In 64 AD, Nero, the fifth Roman emperor, who is among the most despised figures from history for his horrific cruelty to early Christians and, as the legend goes, for playing the fiddle while Rome was consumed by fire. The “fiddle” was closer to a lyre. The violin was centuries in the future. A massive fire devastated Rome for six days. Half the city’s population was made homeless and according to the contemporary Roman historian, Tacitus, the fire destroyed 70% of the city. As panic set in, rumors circulated that Nero ordered the fire to be started so that he could rebuild the city the way he wanted. The people of Rome wanted someone to blame, and so the “fiddle” story emerged. And we have Biden…
In a recent op-ed piece in the New York Post, Cal Thomas, who is an American syndicated columnist, author and radio commentator, compared 1924 to 2024, identifying three key pieces of President Calvin Coolidge’s platform. As the nation’s 30th president, President Coolidge(R)(July 4, 1872 – January 5, 1933) was governing the country during the “Roaring ‘20’s” and did things the current president and Congress would be wise to repeat. He succeeded Warren Harding who passed on August 2, 1923.
In 1924, Coolidge won a landslide victory running on a platform of limited government, reduced taxes and less regulation. Coolidge also signed an immigration law that regulated the number of foreigners who could come to America, usually through legal ports of entry. Even though Coolidge was dubbed “Silent Cal,” history has done right by him. If Coolidge had run for re-election in 1928, Herbert Hoover would not have run and chances are the 1929 Stock Market crash would have been avoided. As I have long maintained, if one repeats history, she is a very harsh teacher. And by the way, Coolidge was rated the most underrated POTUS in American History, while Obama was the most overrated.
Coolidge enforced the 14th Amendment, which states: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction of, all citizens of the United States, and the state where they reside” So, foreign influence in the Executive Branch of the Federal Government was one of the Founding Fathers biggest concerns, which is the reason for the “Natural Born Citizen” clause. The Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution was adopted on July 9, 1868, as one of the Reconstruction Amendments. Looks like MancurianJoe could be facing some rough times ahead.
As we enter the fourth, and hopefully, the final year of what has easily been the tenure of the worst POTUS in American History, the one and only Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. As the calendar flips, the Biden administration remains in a full see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil mode on the topic of illegal aliens illegally entering the country, and must be forced to accept the fact that over six million illegals, and counting, have us bursting at the seams. This is especially true in the Democratic run cities, who have realized the mistakes they made by declaring themselves sanctuary cities by inviting the illegals and have finally realized that Biden, Harris and Mayorkas have left them out to dry…financially, with rising crime rates and overcrowded schools. Yet, the borders remain open and essentially unprotected, without the ability to stop the southern border invasion!
Another indication that the Federal government is still refusing to face the central causes won’t end New York City’s illegal alien crisis. Yet buses full of “asylum seekers” have been diverted, under orders from NYC Mayor Eric Adams, from Manhattan’s Port Authority Bus Terminal to the Secaucus, New Jersey PATH train station, a quick train hop into the city. And then New York City sends the illegals to predetermined destinations throughout the country. Don’t forget that Democrats have been calling Governor Abbott a xenophobe and racist for transporting illegals out of Texas. He’s doing his job as much as Biden has failed to do his. But aren’t the mayors of sanctuary cities doing the same thing transporting the illegals out of their cities? Yes! And Adams is still calling out Biden regarding the open borders.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) is continuing his policy of transporting illegal migrants to New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia and other sanctuary cities, despite new city ordinances targeting busing. Additionally, as a case in point, eight busloads were heading towards Chicago, with additional buses heading towards NYC. Included are 350 illegal aliens who were flown overnight on Biden Airlines, landing in Rockford, an Illinois city about 90 minutes from Chicago, according to WGN9. The Biden Airlines continues to fly illegals from Texas to Rockland County in New York State. And they then get transported to parts unknown, only to surprise the locals. Even the Democratic mayors are bussing the illegals out.
During an interview on Newsmax, Representatives Tony Gonzales(R-TX) and Henry Cuellar(D-TX) both stated that Biden can either deport people who are coming illegally into the United States or he can “lose and watch the next president enforce those policies on the books.” It’s reported that several House Republicans, including Speaker of The House Mike Johnson(R-LA), visited the border, and they will see that life there is “turned upside down,” said Gonzales.
Cuellar, meanwhile, said Biden needs to address the issues that are leading people to the border and “hitting a speed bump and being released.” Cuellar added that the migrants must receive a quick hearing, and most, about 85%, will be rejected when trying to claim asylum, said Cuellar. The Texas representatives are showing a bipartisan pushback against Biden’s failing border policies. Wait…there are no border policies, or security, for that matter. Moreover, this administration is employing the Obama era “Catch and Release” philosophy, with illegals receiving court appearance notices dated 2031.
As the numbers continue to astronomically climb, the people entering the United States illegally are not only from Central and South America, but from an estimated 160 countries. There are an inordinate number of military age men coming from the draconian Communist Chinese Republic, with military age men from Venezuela, Africa and most scary are the illegals from Guinea. CBP officers in the Tucson, Arizona, sector are seeing an influx of immigrants from Guinea using forged passports to claim they are minors when entering the United States illegally, according to an internal CBP alert obtained by Fox News. The producer of these passports must be located and eradicated.
Fox News correspondent Sara Carter hit the nail on the head: “This is what we were warning of for years, and I have been warning of this for nearly 20 years since covering the US-Mexico border. This is an example of weaponized migration and don’t for one second believe that this is just happening naturally, it is by design by our adversaries, from Venezuela and used as a tool of war by other adversaries, such as Iran and China and Russia.” And the Biden administration is nothing more than a tool employed by our adversaries.
While Biden continues to demonstrate a complete and utter disregard, and disconnect, with the citizens he is supposed to be serving, he had the the unmitigated gall to proclaim January as “Human Trafficking Prevention Month.” This act of stupidity angered critics who maintain that he’s solely responsible for the record breaking numbers of human trafficking along the southern border. The illegal aliens crossing the border continue to spike.
As reported by The New York Post, Biden’s statement decreeing the annual recognition was issued by the White House press office while he vacations in St. Croix and calls for “safe, orderly, and humane migration” despite chaotic scenes at the southern border. These words are notably absent from last year’s similar edict.
In an interview with the NY Post, the former Acting Director of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Tom Homan stated unequivocally that, “It’s just disgusting that he wants to declare human trafficking awareness month.” Homan went on to say: “If anybody needs to be aware of human trafficking, it’s him. He’s supporting the human traffickers because of his lack of enforcing the border. They’re making record amounts of money moving record amounts of people because of his intentional un-securing of the border.” And let’s not forget about the drug trafficking (methamphetamine and fentanyl), child trafficking, sex trafficking and weapons trafficking…including money laundering.
For the longest time it’s been clear that California was once the landing spot for many Americans to relocate, but is now catering towards illegal aliens. However, due to high taxes, crazy orthodox, radical, progressive Democratic politicians and policies, people are leaving California like rats leaving a sinking ship. Yet California Governor Gavin Newsom(D) is pushing laws that will further drive his state towards bankruptcy, with his socialist agenda. As most blue states, they focus on taking care of the illegal aliens before focusing on the homeless population and the homeless veterans. There are new laws being introduced that will give free healthcare to over 700K+ illegals, which will cause a $2.6B increase in the Medicare program. Furthermore, and how’s this for crazy: Mexican residents who live within 45 miles of the border will qualify for in-state California tuition, which comes out to approximately $5K per person in taxpayer assistance subsidy.
Additionally, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, Vermont, Illinois, Oregon and Washington already cover illegal aliens in specific age categories, and radical, left-wing, progressive lawmakers are pushing to expand the coverage to all ages.
Continuing, the number of illegal aliens on the terror watchlist caught by CBP in the first two months of the new fiscal year puts 2024 on pace to hit a new record, according to update information. CBP documented a total of 31 illegal aliens whose names appeared on the terror watchlist so far in fiscal year 2024, 13 of which were arrested in October, according to the data. CBP recorded 172 encounters of illegals whose names appeared on the watchlist in fiscal year 2023, 98 in fiscal year 2022 and 16 in fiscal year 2021. The increasing numbers are screaming about the lack of border security…thanks to Biden’s magnanimous immigration policies.
As it stands right now, there is now no end in sight for the border to be properly secured. The orthodox, radical progressive Democrat left will continue to dictate policy to Biden on all fronts, who as I previously stated, is the worst president in American history, as he promulgates the continuation of Obama 3.0. Remember, it was Obama’s goal when he, and his “wife,”signed a $50 million contract with Netflix, to develop one million “Barack and Michellles.” In other words, indoctrination, similar to the “Hitlerjugen,” or Hitler Youth, which was organized in 1922, and from 1936 until 1945, it was the sole official boys’ youth organization in Nazi Germany…indoctrination! The ultimate Obama goal was to “fundamentally change” the country and it’s quite obvious the path he has implemented…just like he did with Minnesota and Michigan.
Throughout the course of his failed presidency, Biden has been repeatedly criticized for spending so much of his time away from the office on vacations. To date, he has spent 418 days on vacation, while president, or 40%. He orchestrated the disastrous retreat from Afghanistan…destroyed the domestic energy sector, which led to the Ukraine v USSR…which led to the massacre in Israel on October 7, 2023…took one day from another vacation to visit the fire devastated Lahaina for a few hours, but has yet to visit the city of East Palestine, Ohio, which was essentially poisoned by a chemical train derailment in March, 2023. Biden has yet to take time from his truncated schedule to visit. He is no leader!
On this latest excursion, traveling on our dime, as Biden exited the White House, he claimed his 418th vacation day to travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands to put his feet up for New Year’s. Meanwhile, the folks in East Palestine, the residents are not presented with such luxury. The good people must feel abandoned and ignored by a man who claims to be blue collar. Yeah right!!
While walking from Marine One into the White House, Biden was asked by a reporter what he was going to do about the southern border and the record number of migrants going through. “Well, we gotta do something,” Biden answered before appearing to say, “They [Republicans] ought to give me the money I need to protect the border.” This feeble, cognitively challenged octogenarian is absolutely clueless! He knows that additional funding will not solve the border invasion.
One trip Biden has conspicuously refused to make was to the southern border to see in person what he has been absolutely negligent to address. He sent the border czar, but Harris, easily considered the worst vice president in American History, never got a sniff of visiting the border. As for DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas…he should be impeached, convicted and incarcerated.
To ‘fiddle while Rome burned’ is now used to criticize someone who is worrying about trivial things while neglecting to act on more serious matters. Nero was guilty for not caring while his people suffered and for being useless in a crisis. And Biden is just as guilty as the Roman Emperor. As Nero fiddled and as Biden spent many vacation days away from the White House, they oversaw the collapse of once prosperous and powerful countries. Two failed leaders, from two entirely different eras, who were solely responsible for shirking their responsibilities, resulting in the slow demise of their countries, along with one crisis after another!
