“It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.”Dr. Thomas Sowell, Senior Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution
A friend of mine once told me that it’s important to accomplish and learn something every day. As for your daily accomplishment, US Navy Admiral William H. McRaven, one of the most decorated US commanders, delivered one of the best motivational speeches you will ever hear during the 2014 Commencement Ceremony at the University of Texas, Austin. There were many things Admiral McRaven spoke about, but the first accomplishment to change the world is as simple as making one’s bed in the morning. I wonder how many people do that during their morning routines. By the way, the speech can be viewed on YouTube. https://youtu.be/pxBQLFLei70
As for the second component of my friend’s recommendation regarding learning something new each day, it was about high rates of inflation, socialism and the National Socialist German Workers Party eventually winning the majority in the Reichstag during the period of the Weimer Republic, 1919-1933. In a nutshell, Germany was held responsible for starting World War I, along with the reparations to England and France. The French were still pissed about the Franco-German War of July 19, 1870-May 10, 1871, which was a conflict between the Second French Empire and the North German Confederation led by the Kingdom of Prussia. France got stomped. In 1918, the German monetary system was torpedoed not only by the reparations, but also by the Stock Market Crash of 1929. The German mark was essentially worthless. Therefore, you had out of control inflation. A wheelbarrow filled with money would get you one loaf of bread.
Then along comes the Nazi Party making promises of better things to a nation that had been absolutely beaten. Sounds like the radical progressives who made outlandish promises during the 2020 election season. And the German population listened. It was the government and not private ownership that decided what was to be produced, including quantity, prices and means of distribution. (Just think of the cargo ships waiting off the coast of California!). The government also decided what wages would be paid. (Think of the US government passing the $15.00/hour wage.) The Nazis, by 1933, had control of the Reichstag and by 1936 they introduced price and wage controls (Go back to the $15.00/HR & prices of food and gas.) to deal with inflation. The Third Reich inflated the money supply in order to support the government’s financial health (Think DementiaJoe’s failing Build Back Better totaling $1.5 trillion and his budget busting American Recovery Act.).
While I had a working knowledge of the wreck that was Germany, its recovery under Adolf Hitler had the country on the brink of conquering mainland Europe. I researched the methodology and was truly surprised to see the similarities between the socialist agendas of Nazi Germany and the Democratic Socialists here in the United States and the means that the government is attempting, or did, garner control of their respective countries.
As for the inflation issue that according to Biden is Putin’s “responsibility,” the Personal Consumption Expenditure Price Index rose by more than expected and indicated that inflation accelerated from the six percent annual rate in January, 2022. This was the fastest rate of price increases since 1982. The current consumer inflation number is close to 8%, while the wholesale inflation rate is close to 10%. Those numbers are also the highest in four decades. This is the United States under Biden, the radical, progressive socialist left and the Socialist Democrats. Under President Donald John Trump the inflation index was 1.9% and held until DementiaJoe blessed us.
By the mid 20’s of the 21st Century, there were more than 190,000 miles of liquid petroleum pipelines that move oil throughout the United States. They connect drilling and production areas to refineries and chemical plants, while delivering the products American consumers and businesses need. Pipelines are constantly monitored, safe, efficient and most are buried, largely unseen. They move crude oil from oil fields on land and offshore to refineries where it is turned into fuels and other products, then from the refineries to terminals where fuels are trucked to retail outlets. Pipelines operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Unless Mother Nature and the orthodox, radical extremists of the socialist, progressive liberal left in the Federal Government stick their two cents in. When was the last reported leak from any of the pipelines?
As it stands right now, the most controversial and contentious pipeline is The Keystone XL Pipeline, which is nothing new. This type of project has been completed thousands of times before, without any major environmental damage. But because of the propaganda by DementiaJoe, the insane liberals and the renewable energy lunes, the Keystone XL Pipeline project has divided America. And been put on hold.
The Keystone XL Pipeline was designed and developed by a company called TransCanada. TransCanada is a Canadian company that builds and operates energy infrastructure across the North American continent. In 2005, the company announced its intentions to build a pipeline to transport crude oil from the oil sands region of Alberta, Canada to the existing Keystone Pipeline in Steele City, Nebraska. The pipeline would also accept U.S. crude from the Bakken oil fields in Montana and North Dakota. The petition was made to the U.S. Department of State because it would cross the U.S. border. The State Department is one of 15 departments under the Executive Branch of the Federal Government.
The original component of the Keystone Pipeline already existed. The Keystone Mainline is 1,353 miles of 30″ pipe which extends from Hardisty, Alberta, Canada to refineries in Wood River and Peoria, Illinois. This segment has been in operation since June 2010. The Cushing Extension is 298 miles of 36″ pipe which runs from Steele City, Nebraska to crude oil terminals and tank farms in Cushing, Oklahoma. This portion has been flowing since February 2011. Since these pipelines were already in service, without an issue, why did the Biden government shut down the Keystone XL Pipeline?
During the course of the 2020 Presidential Election, Biden stated that he would leave the energy industry alone. Then he flipped to kowtow to the green new deal lunatics. Then he said that he did not flip. And six hours after his inauguration, Biden killed the Keystone XL Pipeline and thousands of jobs. And now with the conflict in The Ukraine, Biden ordered the cessation of the purchase of Russian oil. So, where is this cognitively delinquent go begging for oil? Our dearest friends in Iran and Venezuela. The US can drill in Alaska, North Dakota, Montana, Oklahoma and Texas…along with fracking, but Biden was manipulated to deny any harvesting of domestic energy. And the price of oil and gas has spiked…with gas going from $2.30/gallon under President Donald John Trump, to $2.77/gallon during Biden’s first week to the current rates of $4.32 to over $7.00/ gallon. Biden on his first day in office restored the climate cost estimate to about $51 per ton of carbon dioxide emissions, after President Donald John Trump had reduced the figure to $7 or less per ton. Trump’s estimate included only damages felt in the U.S. versus the global harm previously used by Obama. InflationJoe is clueless!
The Keystone XL Pipeline consists of two parts. The first is the Gulf Coast Project. This portion would transport oil over 435 miles through 36″ pipe running from Cushing, Oklahoma to Port Arthur, Texas. The second segment, called the Keystone XL, would run 1,179 miles from Hardisty, Alberta to Steele City, Nebraska. The capacity of existing pipelines is about 591,000 barrels per day (bpd) and the two pending pipelines are expected to transport about 700,000 bpd initially with a potential of 830,000 bpd. The total capacity of both is expected to be about 1.3 million bpd. The Keystone XL pipeline will have increased the diversity of the US petroleum supply. It will have also created up to 43,000 permanent jobs. Now with the one swipe of Biden’s pen having canceled the pipeline and all the jobs associated with it.
Currently, there’s a legal battle between Enbridge Energy, the Canadian government, Governor Gretchen Whitmer(D-MI) and the local tribal nations over the operation of the Line 5 pipeline. The Line 5 pipeline runs under the Straits of Mackinac, which connects Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. Built in 1953 by the Bechtel Corporation, the Line 5 Straits of Mackinac crossing has never experienced a leak in its 65-year history. Enbridge stated that it had “no intention” of shutting down Line 5 and that the state’s order “ignores scientific evidence and is based on inaccurate and outdated information.”
The Line 5 Pipeline
Should the Line 5 pipeline be shut down, tens of thousands of jobs would be lost across Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and the region. Also say goodbye to billions of dollars in economy activity would be in jeopardy. Lastly, the environment would be at greater risk due to additional trucks operating on roadways and railroads. Enbridge argues that its refinery customers in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Ontario and Quebec would see a shortage of gas, diesel and jet fuel of about 14.7 million gallons per day, or about 45% of current supply. Michigan alone would face a propane supply shortage of 756,000 gallons per day and would have to find an alternative supply for anywhere from 4.2 million to 7.77 million US gallons of refined products a day, according to the company.
The MoGas Pipeline is an interstate critical supplier of natural gas in and around the St. Louis region and to both investor-owned and municipal natural gas local distribution systems in Missouri and Illinois. Its strategic Midwestern location provides access to numerous natural gas supply basins throughout the country. The pipeline, which has 24 natural gas delivery points and is regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), provides both firm and interruptible service, with four different receipt points:
• Mississippi River Transmission Corporation (MRT)
• Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company (PEPL)
• Rockies Express Pipeline (REX)
• Spire STL Pipeline (STL)
If the MoGas Pipeline is shutdown, over 750,000 consumers will be affected…at what cost?
And now with the conflict that’s raging between The Ukraine and the USSR, Biden, his failing administration and the belligerent Democrats, have seen to blame each of the problems born after Inauguration Day 2021 on Vladimir Putin, which is just a deceptive deflection. As I previously stated, the price of oil began increasing six hours into DementiaJoe’s first and only term, as he signed Executive Orders attacking our world leading domestic energy production, including the Keystone XL Pipeline, which cost thousands of jobs. Along with inflation rates not seen in over 40 years.
In a statement released this week, Thomas Pyle, President of the American Energy Alliance, claimed the Biden administration has “done everything it possibly can to strangle domestic energy production,” saying Biden’s plan to release a million barrels of oil per day for the next six months from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum reserve is not a “sustainable plan to reduce prices.” Pyle also gave similar comments during a recent interview with FOX Business. “In spite of their rhetoric, the Biden Administration is doing absolutely nothing to encourage the production of American natural gas and oil. In fact, they are making it more difficult,” Pyle said at the time. “The pain at the pump is real and this Administration is making it worse, not better.”
And releasing domestic oil for the next six months is leading right up to the midterms. So, the orthodox, radical extremists of the socialist liberal progressive left can say, “Look what we have done to alleviate the domestic energy availability.” In other words, they are trying to pull a fast one on the American consumer.
Under President Donald John Trump, the United States was energy independent. Under DementiaJoe and the radical green new deal lunatics forced the US to become energy dependent. Our allies in the UAE and Saudi Arabia are ignoring Biden’s calls for oil. Why? Because this dolt wants us back in Obama’s hideous JCPOA nuclear treaty with Iran. And who’s the mediator? Putin’s USSR. Can’t make this up.
In an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey (R-WV)admonished the Biden administration for putting American energy “last,” charging it helped fuel Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. Morrisey charged Biden’s “entire policy” was made clear from the start. “It’s really been Russia first, America last central,” Morrisey said. “You saw that with canceling of the Keystone Pipeline, you saw that with respect to the moratorium on oil and gas drilling and coal mining. You saw that with respect to his climate change policy that seems to put all our foreign competitors first. And now he wonders why inflation and gas prices have gone through the roof,” he said.
I am glad to see that AG Morrisey is in agreement with me! LOL
And let’s not forget that it was Obama who pushed globalism and socialism on the United States. It’s fascinating to look at the parallels between Obama’s socialism, and now Biden’s, with Hitler’s socialism, of course without the millions of dead on Hitler’s hands. They were:
-Elected by the people.
-Was a community activist with no government experience.
-Took over the country’s industrial complex.
-Implemented socialist and entitlement programs.
-Promised significant changes for the population.
A recent Gallup Poll reveals that just 21% of Americans are happy with the job Congress is doing, while 76% of those surveyed said they disapprove. The latest approval rating was taken at the beginning of March, 2022. After enjoying a slight bump to 31% after the passage of several pieces of pandemic economic legislation, which paid people to stay home, Congress’ job approval rating is now in the 18% to 23% range seen since October, Gallup said. The current rating is down considerably, however, from the 12-year high of 36% recorded in March 2021.
Biden’s and Harris’ performance ratings are under water across the board. In a recent poll, DementiaJoe got slammed on domestic issues, especially over the economy, with 63% of Americans disapproving of his Socialist Democratic policies, with only 33% approving. The dysfunction of the Southern Border is right behind! Well, you can’t fix stupid!
And for all those embracing the idea of a socialist America and want to be just like Venezuela or Cuba, remember that Venezuela’s inflation rate is 2,719%. Bet Komrade Bernie and the fools from the squad never told you that!
And President Donald John Trump was absolutely correct about DementiaJoe.
